The position detection device on the numerical control machine tool is usually installed on the worktable or the screw of the machine tool, which is equivalent to the dial of the ordinary machine tool and the eyes of the operator, and automatically and continuously detects the displacement of the worktable and feeds it back to the control system. A large number of facts prove that for a well-designed high-precision CNC machine tool, its machining accuracy and positioning accuracy will mainly depend on the detection device. Therefore, the precision detection device is an important guarantee for high-precision CNC machine tools. In general, the detection devices used on CNC machine tools should meet the following requirements:

1. Reliable work and strong anti-interference.

2. Can meet the accuracy and speed requirements.

3. Easy to use and maintenance, suitable for the working environment of the machine tool.

4. The cost is not high and it is inexpensive.

In general, the detection accuracy of a numerically-controlled machine tool detection device is 0.001 to 0.01 mm/m, and the resolution is 0.001 to 0.01 mm/m, which can satisfy the movement of the machine tool table at a speed of 1 to 10 m/min.
